On-Site Car & Traffic Policy
DrachenFest US
Last Update 8 hours ago
Traffic Control
- After entering the site, all traffic must follow a one-way, single-lane traffic ring, as designated by signage.
- The Bazaar is an exception and will have an alternate access route for setup.
- The maximum speed for all motor vehicles on-site is walking speed, except for emergency service vehicles.
- Violators of traffic rules may face disciplinary action and potential ejection from the event.
Participant Arrival & Traffic
- When entering the campsite for the first time, players must check-in with Operations. For most people, this can be done without getting out of your car.
- After checking in, participants must first proceed to their sleeping area, which may be either an Out-of-Game (OOG) tenting area or an In-Game (IG) camp.
- Participants have 20 minutes (unless otherwise approved) to unload belongings before moving their vehicle to a designated parking area.
- After parking, participants must return on foot to their sleeping area to set up their tent and check in with referees.
Traffic Signage
- Signage will be placed at the event entrance and along the designated traffic route.
- Signs will indicate OOG parking areas, camp locations, and traffic directions.
Traffic Jam Protocol
- If a traffic jam occurs, staff may pause entry to resolve congestion.
- In extreme cases, vehicles may be temporarily directed to an overflow lane for 20 minutes.
If entry is paused, staff will instruct queuing vehicles on the main road to leave and return in 20 minutes.
On Site Vehicle Policy
- At DrachenFest US, emergency access and event operations take priority. We have a limited number of golf carts, strictly reserved for medical emergencies and essential event operations. Additional carts on-site belong to Cooper’s Lake Campground and are unavailable for event use. To ensure safety, efficiency, and immersion, golf carts will not be used for general attendee transport.
Each camp will be supplied with two "Dash passes", a card displayed on a car dashboard. The bearers of these tags must register their name & license plate with Ops. If the tag changes hands (ie someone else in camp will perform the "camp dasher" duties the next day), that person needs to register their license plate with Ops the evening before.
- Between 4am and 9am, the dashpasses permit each camp to have up to two cars drive on site. This allows camps to pick up ice, supplies, drop off batteries for charging, drop people off at the bazaar, and perform accessibility related tasks.
- Before sunlight, headlights must be on.
- All cars must be off site by 9am.
- All camp traffic must follow the regular traffic flow.
