Inclement Weather

DrachenFest is an all-weather event. We run rain or shine—but extreme weather may pause or modify gameplay for safety.

Here’s what to expect:

• Heat: The site can get very hot. Bring shade, water, and breathable clothing. Take breaks, hydrate often, and look out for each other. Referees may suspend combat during heat advisories.

• Rain: Expect some rain. Most players prepare with waterproof tents, cloaks, or rain gear. The game continues unless conditions become dangerous.

• Wind: Wind can be unpredictable. Make sure your tents and canopies are securely staked or weighted down. If you’re building tall props or structures, be ready to take them down if asked.

• Storms & Lightning: In the event of severe storms, including lightning or high winds, gameplay may be suspended. Referees will supervise shelter-in-place procedures or, if necessary, guide players to evacuation zones.
